The purpose of this Society is to organize the medical professionals of Jackson County in order to encompass the goals of extending medical knowledge and the advancement of medical science, of coordinating professional consensus in regard to scientific, legislative, and public health issues, of promoting friendly relationships among physicians, of protecting and fostering the legitimate material interests of physicians, and of enlightening public opinion in regard to social, economic, and political problems confronting the delivery of health care in this county and the nation.

Should you wonder, the above statement was written in 1921, the year the Society was created. A prophetic document considering the present state of Medicine in our County and Nation.
